Go Fishnet
The power of prayer has never ceased to amaze us as we are joined with these small groups that have been oppressed by poverty, yet never give up hope. Once again, this little ministry came to our attention through the diligent and fervent prayers of our unshakable, loving and most "happy" Pastor Gordon.
We were attending an event with the collection of baskets and handiwork of Rehoboth and Zions daughters when we met a gentleman who told us of this "happy" Pastor working alongside those in his village who were destitute and poor. Many of these men and women had to do the unthinkable to survive. God touched our hearts and the journey to see this group on our next Kenyan trip was an adventure to say the least, but we made it.
We are always greeted with clapping hands, joyous song and happy smiles. They are truly thankful and appreciative men, women and children who have blessed us with their trust and loving hearts.
We work with each group differently in either developing product to sell locally or globally. At this time we are working with Go Fishnet to help sponsor local projects to help sustain them for their daily needs. Their needs are the following:
Poultry farming (first one under construction - Jan. 2011) Funded
Land acquired either through purchase or rental
to farm crops for food
Cost: $100 rental per acre,per year!
Plowing of the acre - $60
Sewing projects
Machines $210 each
Tents and chairs for hire -rental business they could do locally for weddings, funerals, events
Tents - $130 each
Chairs - $5 each
Need: 4 tents/200 chairs
Total cost: $1520
